Jackie thanks volunteers at Strafford Homeless Center
State Sen. Jackie Cilley (D-District 6) who represents Rochester in her district, stopped by a HCSC event on Sept. 24 to thank shelter volunteers for their work.
"I felt it was important to personally thank the shelter volunteers for their efforts that provide such an essential service to the community. They are truly the backbone of the shelter," Cilley said.
The Homeless Center of Strafford County is a seasonal, temporary shelter, open from October through April. The shelter serves women, children and families and currently has a capacity of 25 people. Case management is provided for residents by promoting and advocating self-sufficiency, and by assisting residents to find transitional and permanent housing.
